Fall....

A gray day here in Western Washington.
Which meant that the fire place was turned on.

And homemade chili in the crockpot.

With the move "Date Night" and now a football game.
Labor Day is Complete.

Did I mention Its Football Season?

First pre-season NFL game today. Lucky me. Good-Bye Chris see you in February.

Mother of them All

The Everett Northwest Neighborhood Association had their 2ND annual "Mother of All Garage Sales" this Saturday. Since moving into this 3 bedroom condo, we have yet to fill it. Until now! No worries I didn't go crazy. I had a few things in mind that I wanted to look for, but wasn't going to be super disappointed if I didn't find them. My mom and I set out around 9:30 from her house. By the time we got back around 12 or 12:30 we had been to what felt like a hundred sales! North Everett also seems to be home of some very entrepreneur children (and adults!) as we saw a high school boy grilling and selling hot dogs, coffee and other drinks, several lemonade stands including one equipped with Starbucks cups, an adult selling wheat grass, herbs, some dahlias and zucchini, however my favorite by far was the Hispanic family selling Tamales! They had a tent out (did I mention it was raining?) and the line was continuous, some Mexican music going on and a very festive atmosphere!

So what were my finds?
I found these throw pillows at a neighbors place, they had come with her couch and she didn't like them 50 cents a piece...BANG Sold!

I also found two bowls at an estate sale. While Chris and I have several dishes and cooking items, I realized I don't really anything to serve these items in. Price for both $1.50.

The biggest find was a bed. Since getting married, Chris and I have been sleeping on my full bed that I bought in grad school. A full is great as a single person, not so great as a married couple. I love Chris, but not that much when I'm sleeping :)

Chris and I had been debating, queen or king, king or queen. Well when I found this queen for 25 buckaroos, I made an executive decision and chose the queen. Yes, I know a bed for $25 at a garage sale, really Meagan, what were you thinking??? Well, it was the next door neighbor of a family friend, she had slept on the bed for 1 year, then got a temperpedic. The family friends said yes they would buy a bed from her, so BANG sold! Now we have a bed in the guest bedroom! So for those who live far away (ahem sister, brother and family, in laws, grandparents and friends!) We have a place for you to sleep, and yes it comes complete with your own bathroom!

2:00 am

2:00 AM on Tuesday Morning.

Woke up to a very annoying sound. The fire alarm/Smoke detector was going off. I woke Chris up, before I could figure out where it was coming from, Chris had the detector hanging from the wall, the sound still going strong. Went out the front door, realized it was the building. No smoke, no fire. Still very LOUD!

So we slipped on some shoes, sweatshirts, grabbed our keys and phones and walked outside.

Fire Trucks, Ladder Trucks, the whole shebang show up. After about 45 minutes, they let us back inside. Did I mention that my alarm goes off at 3:30am, and its now 2:45? So NOT FAIR!

It was interesting to see what people grabbed. For the most part the men were all in old men cargo shorts, crew socks and tennis shoes/sandals with their polos tucked in. The women in their nighties, slippers, purses strapped around them and holding on to their cats.

Back to Blogging.....

Hey, its been a while....I guess life got in the way!

Quick update since Christmas.

Feb. Went to Alamosa, CO to Jason (Chris'brother) get married to Brittany. Wonderful time Wonderful Wedding. Saw Chris' family who we hadn't seen since our Wedding. Also saw some great friends and had a great time!

April--We received a free nights stay at a hotel in Portland, on the Columbia River, from a great couple! As well as a gift certificate to Buffalo Wild Wings! Yum! We decided to extend the stay by one night so it was a great weekend getaway on a great budget! Thanks to Heather and Scott!

AND the BEST PART of APRIL!!!!

Chris got a few job interviews, interviewed with Boys and Girls Club and got a job as the Athletic Director at a local club!

Memorial Day--MOVED OUT of my parents house!!! Yay!!!
This is our new place....45 bedrooms 30 Fridges and 50 bathrooms. Ok, Ours is a 3bedroom 3 bathroom, corner unit, overlooking the water (yes, Im gloating). Its actually on the opposite side of the building, but this gives you an idea. We were very lucky in finding this place, the rent had been reduced and it fit all our furniture!

The best thing about moving was we got to bring everything out of storage and reopen all our wedding gifts. I had forgotten about a few, I had no idea if we had a toaster or a blender, yes we did! It was great!

And...this picture gives you an idea of the type of people in our building.....

June 12-13th---I went to Spokane for a CEU course, and stayed with my friend Christine, got to visit her new house, their family lake house and enjoyed some sun!

June 20th---1 year! Dinner at Anthony's Woodfire Grill in Everett.

July 4th--Welcomed a new little bundle of joy....our niece Paityn Irene into the world. 7lbs 3 oz. She is adorable and we cant wait to meet her, hopefully soon!

Thanksgiving

Yes, it has been awhile! My apologies! For Thanksgiving we headed up to Gold Bar, where my aunt and uncle live. They live across from the river, I think it is the skykomish. Before we ate, Chris, my dad, and my uncle went out to the river and went fishing. Here are some pictures!

And while I did not go Fishing, I did feel the urge to put on Chris' wadders, and Chris had the urge to take a picture of me :)

We are staying in Everett for the holidays. But will see Chris' family in February in Alamosa! We are very excited as Jason is getting married. I am also excitecd to see some friends I have not seen in a very long time! My sister and her boyfriend John are coming to Everett as well. We are very excited to see them and hear of life in Omaha.
We have activities planned for the holidays, and I promise I will do better with pictures and updates!
