Did I mention Its Football Season?

First pre-season NFL game today. Lucky me. Good-Bye Chris see you in February.

Mother of them All

The Everett Northwest Neighborhood Association had their 2ND annual "Mother of All Garage Sales" this Saturday. Since moving into this 3 bedroom condo, we have yet to fill it. Until now! No worries I didn't go crazy. I had a few things in mind that I wanted to look for, but wasn't going to be super disappointed if I didn't find them. My mom and I set out around 9:30 from her house. By the time we got back around 12 or 12:30 we had been to what felt like a hundred sales! North Everett also seems to be home of some very entrepreneur children (and adults!) as we saw a high school boy grilling and selling hot dogs, coffee and other drinks, several lemonade stands including one equipped with Starbucks cups, an adult selling wheat grass, herbs, some dahlias and zucchini, however my favorite by far was the Hispanic family selling Tamales! They had a tent out (did I mention it was raining?) and the line was continuous, some Mexican music going on and a very festive atmosphere!

So what were my finds?
I found these throw pillows at a neighbors place, they had come with her couch and she didn't like them 50 cents a piece...BANG Sold!

I also found two bowls at an estate sale. While Chris and I have several dishes and cooking items, I realized I don't really anything to serve these items in. Price for both $1.50.

The biggest find was a bed. Since getting married, Chris and I have been sleeping on my full bed that I bought in grad school. A full is great as a single person, not so great as a married couple. I love Chris, but not that much when I'm sleeping :)

Chris and I had been debating, queen or king, king or queen. Well when I found this queen for 25 buckaroos, I made an executive decision and chose the queen. Yes, I know a bed for $25 at a garage sale, really Meagan, what were you thinking??? Well, it was the next door neighbor of a family friend, she had slept on the bed for 1 year, then got a temperpedic. The family friends said yes they would buy a bed from her, so BANG sold! Now we have a bed in the guest bedroom! So for those who live far away (ahem sister, brother and family, in laws, grandparents and friends!) We have a place for you to sleep, and yes it comes complete with your own bathroom!
